The location was noted in the VA Land Grant Image to his "son and heir" Henry Fox (Fox-459) Image 1, 16 Apr 1683. The fourth line of the land grant image described the land "lying in New Kent and Gloucester Counties..." Capt. John Fox had purchased 200 acres of this land about 1682 in Gloucester County from Mr. Thomas Hanks, and his son Henry Fox inherited this land and added 100 additional acres "newly taken up" for the transportation of two persons into the colony. The dividing line of these two counties ran through this 300 acres VA Land Grant to son Henry Fox, dated 16 Apr 1683.
